Central European Distribution Corporation Announces Net Sales and Net Income for Fourth Quarter and Full Year 2001

Sarasota, Florida: Central European Distribution Corporation, today announced net sales and net income for the fourth quarter and full year based on its un- audited 2001 results. The Company is expecting to file its audited 10K in the second week of March. Net sales for the fourth quarter ended December 31, 2001 increased 16% to $57.0 million (un-audited) from $49.1 million for the same period in 2000. Net earnings increased 59% to $1.2 million, or $0.28 earnings per share (un-audited), from $756,000, or $0.18 earnings per share, for the same period in 2000.

Net sales for the full year 2001 increased 36% to $178.2 million (un- audited) from $131.2 million for the same period in 2000. Net income for the full year 2001 increased 154% to $2.5 million, or $0.58 earnings per share (un-audited), from $985,000, or $0.23 earnings per share, for the same period in 2000.

William Carey, President and CEO, commented, "We saw strong top and bottom line growth in 2001, which was driven not only through our organic growth but also through the added value of our past acquisitions. We continued to focus on expanding our distribution coverage as well as increasing our assortment of higher margin imported brands both of which had a positive impact on our results."

Neil Crook, Chief Financial Officer, added, "We are pleased with our 2001 full year results, which were driven by double digit revenue growth as well as tight cost control, these improvements meant we were able to increase our operating profit by 69% to $4.8 million for the year. By containing our non- operating costs these operating improvements have flowed through to improved earnings of $2.5 million."
